Anna

Anna takes pride in ensuring that she uses her education in the musculoskeletal system to the advantage of her clients. Using massage not only as a way to provide her clients with  relaxation, but as a way to relieve their pain and improve their quality of life. She holds a Diploma in Health Sciences and Therapeutic Massage which she gained in 2010 through New Zealand College of Massage, after two years of full-time study. This allows her to work therapeutically with a wide range of clients, and with an assortment of physical health needs.

The mind-body connection has been a long term interest of hers, especially with regards to pain and trauma. Over the past couple of years she has pursued more study to support her in her goals of providing bodywork and safe touch to trauma survivors. Last year she became a certified McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release practitioner, and subsequently went on to gain her Certificate in Psychology & Counselling. This expands her scope of practice and allows her to evaluate a clients’ needs thoroughly, engage them from a mental wellness perspective, and provide a more holistic service.

She strongly values client safety, informed consent and autonomy; all of which create a firm base of principles which she works from during every session. Anna has a passion for treating soft tissue pain and dysfunction, mental health and making people feel relaxed and whole. With training in relaxation, pregnancy, sports and therapeutic massage, she addresses a range of issues, such as soft tissue pain, headaches, postural dysfunction, trigger points (painful knots) and general tension.
